Kimi was her name. A Japanese grandmother with impeccable taste and a heart full of love, she flew in from Hawaii and handed a 5-year-old girl her very first bikini. It was the kind of gift that stays with you forever — not just the suit, but the feeling. The excitement. The way something beautiful can make a little girl stand a little taller and smile a little wider.

That little girl grew up. And she never forgot.

Kimi was her grandmother. Li is her — Lisa, the woman that little girl became. Together, their names tell the whole story.

Over twenty years ago, Lisa went looking for a cute swimsuit for a friend's baby shower and came home empty handed. Beautiful swimwear for babies simply didn't exist — what was out there was an afterthought at best. So she decided to do something about it. She made it herself — and Kimi & Li Bikini was born.

What started as a search for one perfect little suit became a boutique brand rooted in something real: the belief that little girls deserve to feel as magical at the beach as they do everywhere else. Every design carries a piece of Kimi's spirit — thoughtful, feminine, and made with so much love it shows in every stitch.

We're based in Hawaii, designing girls' swimwear from newborn through size 14. Quality construction, beautiful prints, and details that make Mamas smile and little ones twirl.
